Description
Fyvie Castle has its roots firmly entrenched in Scottish history. There was a royal lodge here at least as early as the 13th century, and William the Lion held a Parliament in 1214. Since the late 14th century Fyvie has passed through the hands of the most powerful families in northern Scotland, each of who has left their mark on the fortress. I was fortunate enough to visit on a glorious summer day, and seeing Fyvie shining in the sun it was hard to imagine a more perfect baronial house than this.
