About David Ross
I bought my first 'serious' camera for a trip to the UK when I was in my 20s. That trip sparked not only a love affair with photography but a love affair with the wonderful landscape and heritage of Britain. Those twin loves have inspired me over the past several decades, as I've explored Britain from Orkney to Cornwall, and most points in between.
I find my greatest satisfaction in taking photographs that capture something quintessentially 'British' about my adopted home. Over the past 15 years I've developed the www.BritainExpress.com website to share my love of England, Scotland, and Wales, and have taken well over 165,000 images of the UK. I'm sharing some of my favourite - and some of the most *British* of my image collection, and I hope that you find it as moving and inspiring as I do when I take the photos!
For those who are technically inclined, I work with professional level Nikon digital cameras and lenses. My 'go-to' combination is a Nikon D700 with a 24-70mm f2.8 lens. I love this camera and lens combination, but that doesn't stop me dreaming about buying a new D810 or, even better, a D4s.
