Beallach na Ba, or the Pass of the Cattle, is an amazing winding road through an alpine mountain pass between Loch Kishorn and the secluded village of Applecross, in the Wester Ross region of the Scottish Highlands. This view looks down the western slope of the Pass of the Cattle, with the Isle of Skye in the distance. The Pass is usually blocked by snow in winter, isolating Applecross from the outside world. I love this area, and look forward to my next chance to visit and photograph the amazing landscape.
I bought my first 'serious' camera for a trip to the UK when I was in my 20s. That trip sparked not only a love affair with photography but a love affair with the wonderful landscape and heritage of Britain.
