There are at least 3 Newark Castles that I'm aware of. This is Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire. I was staying in a holiday cottage about 15 minutes away from Newark, and had just returned after a long day exploring historic sites in the area. But when I saw what the evening light looked like I roused myself for a drive to Newark. I'm so glad I did; the evening light on the castle was simply stunning!
